You Don’t Trust Me?

“Why should I trust a stranger?” Oops, is that what you have on your mind right now?
Before you turn away, I am not talking about myself.
It is a question from the Lord. As a believer, it is much easier to trust men than to put our trust in God, Why?
For some believers, their trust in God is only during the good times. They become distant from God when the table turns.

While some only come back to trust Him when the ways they tried on their own don’t work out.
Is that all the category of believers?
Of course, not.
There are the believers that claim to trust God, yet make provisions known as Plan B.
Am I perfect? No, I’m not, but I am trying to offer you a way out through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 3:5-6 — “5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (KJV)
That part of the scriptures admonishes us to trust in the Lord with “ALL” of our hearts. It says all and not part.
It is not committing your job to Him, but leaving Him out of your finance or committing your family to Him while you leave Him out of your relationship.

No, it shouldn’t be. He wants to be involved in everything right from what you want to eat, wear, etc. From the small details to the big details and you can only trust Him with big things when you’ve always run small things through Him.

Yes, you speak good grammar, you are schooling or schooled in the world’s best school, you have a sharp insight, etc that’s great.
BUT

The scripture says not to lean on your own understanding, but seek His will in all you do.

His will is not your will neither are your ways His ways because He has a greater plan for you. Why not trust Him today?

It is much easier for you to trust a cab driver you don’t know from Adam to take you to your destination. It is funny how we flag down a cab and settle in comfortably without a doubt.
You put your trust in a driver who gets you to your destination with His GPS.

How much easier should it be if that same trust is directed towards God? He has been in existence from age to age, generation to generation and People have testified to His awesomeness. Even if you’ve not seen it in your life, you’ve seen it in others’ life.
So wouldn’t it be great to trust this Heavenly Driver with a great track record of delivery?

Trust is the basis of every relationship. Just as you find it painful when your partner doesn’t trust you, In the same way, He hurts when you don’t trust Him.

Would you take that chance today?
You learn to trust people through your consistent relationship with them. Learn to Trust God by establishing a relationship with Him today.
If you have a relationship with Him, yet you still struggle with trusting Him, Deepen your relationship with Him today and find out why you find it hard to trust Him.

Learn to trust Him by asking questions as you fellowship with Him, and seek His will for you in His Word (Bible) which is our global positioning system. Start by asking Him what to wear, what to do when you are stuck, etc. You’ll be surprised at how He will come through for you in your stillness of heart.

What do you stand to gain for trusting Him?

  • The desires of your heart will be met (Psalm 37:4-5 — “4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” (KJV)),
  • He will be your shield, your help and your heart will be glad in Him (Psalm 33:20-22 — “20 Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. 22 Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.(KJV)),
  • You’ll never be forsaken (Psalm 9:10 — “10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” (KJV)),
  • Your strength will be renewed, you’ll soar high, you won’t be weary nor faint (Isaiah 40:31 — “31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (KJV))

What you stand to gain for trusting the Lord is endless and you have nothing to lose.
So would you take that bold step of trusting the Lord fully withholding nothing?
Whenever you withhold or have plan B when you’ve given yourself to trusting Him, all you will have is the crumbs of the promise He has for you.
Trusting Him fully gives you abundance and I must tell you, Trusting Him isn’t easy nor is it rosy, but it’s worth it.
Would you trust Him today? Would you give up on all of your plan Bs? Would you seek His will in all you do today? Ponder on these questions and make your decisions today!

I pray that the grace to Trust the Lord is granted unto you and that the promises that accompany trusting Him are released into your life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
